Renovation by Residence Artists

The family residing in this 1930’s Colonial desired an updated look to accommodate their way of living while respecting the traditional architectural details of the space. This involved serious discussions about whether or not to incorporate a tv over the fireplace in this traditional Shaker Heights living room. With three teenagers in the house, a tv was decided on. The living room started with an inherited, gorgeous antique rug that was the base for color and we played up the bright pinks to make the room feel lively, more youthful and inviting. Decorative lighting fixtures were added to the living room as well, like all older homes, it was dark. The most dramatic improvement to this home is master bath renovation, this once closed off, dark space with a single pedestal sink became part of a beautiful suite complete with a steam shower and is adjacent to a newly added, glamorous dressing room. Other updates included complete renovations of two other bathrooms and a teenager’s bedroom complete with a dream of a custom closet. A kitchen renovation has been designed for and is scheduled for construction in the new year.
