FAQs

What are the benefits of hiring an interior designer?

Working with an interior designer helps you enjoy the home improvement process. I will put a plan, like a road map, together for you to follow so that you stay on track to arrive at your goal. I’m able to pinpoint your design style, evaluate your needs and guide you along the way. As your designer, I’ll act as a project manager, alleviating what could feel like another full-time job when you are already busy. I’ll help you avoid wasting time and money on the wrong selections and create a cohesive, thought out, well-balanced home. My goal is to make this as enjoyable as possible.

What is the design Process?

When you reach out to my studio, we’ll set up a time to talk over the phone where we will go over the scope of your project, timeline and design fees involved. After this initial chat, you’ll receive a questionnaire via email and once it’s been completed and reviewed, a letter of agreement with a retainer fee will be sent out to you if we decide to work together. Once the retainer has been received, we’ll set up the first consultation at your home.

What to expect at the first home meeting…we’ll continue our conversation in person, measurements and photos will be taken of the space and any existing furnishings and artwork will be cataloged if being incorporated into the new space. Depending on the size of the project, this initial in-person meeting will take a minimum of 2 hours based on 17 years of experience.

Once all the information has been collected, the conceptual phase of the project begins. This will include inspiration references, drawings, building selections including finishes, furniture layouts, furniture selections, lighting, artwork and accessories.

A meeting will be set up to present options to the client approximately 3-4 weeks (depending on scale of project), decisions will be made and then contractors will do their walk through’s for bidding on the plans created. Furniture, rugs, artwork, window treatments, etc., will be proposed and ordered and overseen by the designer.

What kind of projects do you take on?

As a full-service interior design firm, I take on projects of various scales—everything from new build’s to renovations and refreshes. Primarily residentially focused, I also take on commercial projects and have been involved with selecting finishes, furniture, artwork and accessories for a few local downtown businesses.

What is a typical budget for a project?

Every project is different and I’ll be able to give you an idea of what a realistic investment for interior design services should be for the type of project you are doing once I get to know the scope of your project. Let’s talk!

Can I still work with my existing contractor?

Yes! While I can refer contractors and trades who I greatly value and have experience together with, I’m always open to working with a new team to achieve your design goals.
